SCHEDULING TRAINING

Hey everyone and welcome back to Hiitblog!

As i mentioned in my introduction blog, i want to talk about time poor people fitting training into their busy week. So, today I'd like to talk about "Training Scheduling". Hopefully these ideas will help you breakdown your week and fit in some exercise if you are struggling to find the time to get any training into your lifestyle.

What i like to do with my clients is look at their whole week, write the days out on a sheet of paper, then start adding to it. Start with immovable things, eg: work, kids sport etc. It's a process of elimination. I find this method very effective, as 'little pockets" of time start appearing. Half an hour here, 20 mins there. Like everything in life, when its out of your head and laid out in front of you it all seems a bit clearer and more manageable. Remember, we're not talking about finding an hour and a half to get to the gym, this is about adapting your training to your schedule and lifestyle. You can get a lot done in little time with little or no equipment. I'll talk about how to train as we move on.

After you have found some times, schedule your training. Make it a meeting with yourself, add it to your calendar, phone, set a reminder, whatever it takes and KEEP THE APPOINTMENT! No different to putting in a session with your PT, or a hair appointment. If something comes up (which often it will), don't write off the session, look to move it or modify it. If it was "booked" for 30 mins and you'll only manage 15, DO IT! I guarantee you will feel way better for doing something than nothing at all.

Thanks for tuning in guys
